About Wetsuits

There is a big debate about wetsuits nowadays. The debate is if they should be permitted in triathlon. Swimmers wish they are not legal in triathlon. Runners and cyclists who are not so good at swimming, on the other hand, would love wetsuits in this discipline.

Wetsuits give a better body position for less-skilled swimmers. They are also slick giving less friction in the water. French studies show though that wetsuits improve performance in weaker swimmers rather than good ones.

Badminton is a great way of keeping fit and healthy. Beccles Badminton Club reminds its past, present and future members that the season is just about to start. The Club starts the new season on 3rd September at at the Beccles Sports Centre from 7pm.

The members play every Wednesday from September until March. The club runs four teams in the Norwich and District League. There are: one ladies’ team, one men’s team and two mixed teams.

A few more words about children’s fitness. Summer holidays are a great time to go out, spend time in the fresh air and forget about TV and computer games. Researches show about 2 million British kids are overweight and 700.000 of whom are obese.

Obesity can cause serious diseases such as high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes. The reason for this situation is lack of exercise and poor diet. Children should be more engaged in a physical activity and keeping fit should be more fun.

4. The World Toe Wrestling Competition.
It first started in 1976 in a pub in Derbyshire. The whole idea is to lock toes together and force the opponent’s foot to the ground.

5. Fistball.
The purpose of the activity is to hit the ball with your fist or arm and place it in the opponent’s half where they won’t get to it. After passing the net, the ball may be contacted up to three times by the five players on each team.
