Youngsters in the Redditch area cannot complain about lack of activities during this summer. The town’s Skatepark has been a busy place since the beginning of the holidays.
Thanks to the donation from Councillor Betty Passingham the new rollerblades, skateboards and safety equipment have been bought. In practice it means that not only those who have inline skates, skateboards and BMX can spend their time in the park. Also those who don’t have this equipment are welcome to the skatepark where they can borrow high quality stuff. The cost is only £5 per day including entrance fee (if you have your own equipment the fee is £3).
“The skatepark offers an ideal opportunity for young people to become involved in extreme sports which offers a positive lifestyle change”. Steve Rooke, the skatepark spokesman said. “The skatepark has ramp courses for the beginner to the professional along with high quality equipment for hire. We are really pleased how the summer holidays are going seeing new young people becoming involved is a credit to Betty and all she stood for, as she was a big supporter of the skatepark.”
