Kitesurfing and kiteboarding are apparently the quickest growing water sports in the world.
Kitesurfing is composed of: windsurfing, wakeboarding and power kite flying. It’s not sure whether the sport was invented in France or Hawaii. Kitesurfing in Hawaii developed very fast because of the fantastic weather conditions and good wind. Also in the UK the sport is very well known. The large L shaped kites can be seen along many British coastlines.
To do kitesurfing, apart from a kite, you also need a board, with straps. The board is powered by a large power kite. Its size depends on the wind strength. For steering the rider uses a 25m-long dyneema lines. Kitesurfing lets you going through the water very fast but you can also do high jumps, spins and triple loops. But this is only possible if you control your kite, speed and power. This sport is definitively for those who love water, waves and high speed.
