Ellie Taylor - A Wakeboarding Talent
Wakeboarding consists on doing tricks and stunts while riding a wakeboard and being attached to a motor boat.
Ellie Taylor, 15, tried this sport two years ago when she was on holiday in Cyprus. And just four months later she fifth in last summer’s National Championships held in Sheffield.
Ellie has been qualified for the Junior Girls U15 section that takes part in June, 7 in Sheffield. She is also is this month’s recipient of the Wilts and Glos Sports Grant. That makes her life really busy: she is wakeboarding almost every day after school as well as at weekends.
She is concentrated on the nationals next month.
“Three of the girls who finished in front of me last year have moved up an age group,” said Ellie. “The other is Sophie Cordery from Thorpe Park and she is sure to be my toughest rival. It would be great to finish first or second. With a good finish I suppose I could be thinking about the European and the World Championships later in the year”.
