If you are a surfing fan, you’ll have strong muscles in your back, shoulders, chest and arms. Also your legs will be very strong as popping up requires that. While surfing you’ll also use your legs and body weight for steering.

Because paddling against big waves is hard, your heart will rate up. Within an hour you will burn about 280 calories.

If you are a beginner there is a chance that you will pick up the basics of the surfing very quickly. If you want, though, progress and catch and ride the waves, it will require more patience and lots of training.

The most common injuries while surfing are bruises from contact with the board. But once your flexibility and core stability improves, your injuries are less frequent.

When it comes to water-skiing, this sport also makes your upper-body strong as you back, shoulders and arms resist the strain of the rope.

Your legs will be very strong as well as they meet the bumpy wake behind the boat and control the direction. Because they are bent, will give you extremely strong quads.

Water-skiing is a demanding sport that will make you very fit. You won’t be able, however, to ski for that long as you would surf. Within an hour you will burn 380 calories.

Beginners will progress in water-skiing pretty quickly as they don’t depend on waves conditions. The crucial thing here as well as in surfing is still balance.

When it comes to the injuries, sprains and strains are the most common ones. Especially more advanced skiers get them as their skis don’t come off easily while falling.
