Choosing A Snowboard

Comparing snowboarding to skiing, which one is more popular? The former one! Apparently three times more people do skiing rather than snowboarding. Using a single board on the snow may mean lots of falls and crashes. Hurts! Even if you wear proper gear such as helmet, wrist guards, padded shorts, beginning may still be painful.

Skiing seems to be much easier with the two skis and the two poles. You’ve got then four edges to master.

But some of us like challenges! And once you’ve mastered the basics of snowboarding, you leave skiers far behind you. If you are confident, you can master the sport during just two weeks. So, don’t think any longer but buy a good snowboard.

Winter is still with us, you might consider taking a few fun days off on the slope. Better don’t count on hiring the equipment in the resort. Unfortunately you might be disappointed by finding out that there isn’t anything suitable for you. The choice of hiring equipment is quite limited and there might be a problem with finding something of your size. Don’t let it spoil days of the white craze and buy yourself a nice snowboard.

Before heading to the shop think of what kind of equipment you will need? Are you an experienced snowboarder? What type of terrain you’ll be riding on? Another question is whether you will want to practice indoors or you will rather head to somewhere with lots of natural snow. For indoor snowboarding you should be looking for a short, light and highly manoeuvrable board. The latter option will require something longer, stiffer and meatier.

Choose o good specialist snowboard store where experts will be able to suggest a perfect board. Everything counts: if you are a lady, you will probably need something lighter, more narrow, shorter and less stiff. There are also unisex models to choose from if you are a lady but consider doing aggressive snowboarding.

Many shops run test programs. You will then be able to hire a test board (similar to the one you want to buy)for a day and gave a go on it.
