It’s Risky And Exciting - Kitesurfing.

If the wind is right, kitesurfing can be “an extreme sports junkie’s dream catchall”. But to catch good wind you need to spend a lot of time monitoring the weather and wind reports. The ideal wind speed for kitesurfing is between 15 and 25 knots.

But in order to start this exciting sport, you’ll need some equipment.
1. You’ll need a kite. They are available in two forms: inflantable and foil kites, and in various sizes (from 7 square meters to 21 square meters). The larger the surface area, the more power the kite has.

2. Lines - their lenghts are between 20 and 40 meters. If you’re overpowered, use shorter lines and longer - if you’re underpowered. Most power kites use a three-, four- or five-line configuration.

3. Control bar is a solid metal that attaches to the kite via the lines. To control the kite you need to hold on to this bar and pull at its ends, which causes the kite to rotate.

4. Kite harness can come seat, waist or vest types but the most popular are waist harnesses. It attaches the rider to the control bar and takes most of the strain of the kite’s pull off of the rider’s arms, spreading it across a portion of his body.

5. Kiteboard is a matter of preference but also of the conditions you’ll meet at the beach. There are several types of kiteboards: surf-style boards, smaller wakeboard-style boards, even smaller skim-type boards and hybrids. They come with footstraps so you can attach and detach for tricks and jumps.
