Health Tip: Inline Skating

Did you know that inline skating can burn as many calories as running or cycling? It’s also fun - providing you wear appropriate gear. It’s frightening but about two-thirds of all skaters don’t wear safety gear! That’s the reason of the most common face and head injuries.
The National Safety Council says that inline skaters should always wear a helmet, elbow and knee pads, light gloves, and wrist guards.
If you’re a beginner, consider taking a few lessons to learn the basics. Be careful while crossing the roads, don’t skate on roads and be aware of other people on bike paths, trails and sidewalks. And don’t skate on oily and wet surfaces.
Also more advanced skaters should not forget about safety equipment especially while trying new stunts. Anyway, you’ll be more confident and relaxed doing new tricks knowing your head, knees and elbows are safe…
