Mountain Bike Stunts

Riding a mountain bike is fun, especially if you can show your friends some impressive stunts. Practice them when no one can see you (in case something doesn’t go as planned) and when you’re ready - have a go with the audience.
Some stunts to learn:
The Bunny Hop - Ride towards the obstacle you’re going to jump. Before jumping, press your weight into the pedals. Then pull your mountain bike into the air with the handlebars and pedals. Try to be smooth and relaxed during the jump. You can land either on the rear or on both wheels simultaneously. You’ll have the full control of your bike if you won’t use the front brake until you balance is settled. Use your knees and elbows to absorb the shock.
The Track Stand - You can show off with your balance and coordination by stopping your bike without putting your feet down. Roll to a stop, stand up on the pedals slightly and position your shoulders above the front hub. Turn the front wheel slightly and level out your pedals with one foot forward. To achieve minuscule amounts of forward momentum, drag the brakes slightly and ratchet your pedals. Then move similarly backwards using the incline. Practice this stunt whenever you can and after some time you’ll be able to perform it even without using your hands!
