Face Of Future Tennis

If you were a kid in the past and you wanted to learn how to play tennis, you had to learn it in the same way as adults. You had to use the full-sized adult racquet and had to play on a full-sized adult court. The worst of all, you had to stand in a long line with other kids while the coach would feed you balls as you did some kind of “drill.”

No wonder that after a few weeks of that boredom and monotony, the kids would give up and leave the tennis racquet in a dark place.

Luckily the times have changed and now children can learn how to play tennis in a funny and innovate way. Both equipment and court are adjusted proportionally to their size and game-based approach is used to teach the fundamental skills. Thanks to that children can enjoy benefits of this sport and have good time with friends.

6-8 year old children use 23 inches racquets and foam balls. Their court is 18 feet wide by 36 feet long, and the net has been lowered to 2-foot-9. Older kids, 8-10 years old, use 25 inches racquets and “low compression” balls. Their court is 21 feet wide and 60 feet long.

In this way children play with safe equipment they can control more easily and on a court they can realistically cover.

The other innovation is teaching techniques. Now kids don’t need to stand in the line and hit the dead ball. Now they can play and have fun with friends. Beginning of each lesson is devoted to a specific skill set. Then children have possibility to practice the new skill while playing a short match.

In result kids experience success with tennis is much quicker, and because of that success, are eager to come back for more.
