Get Ready For Fun Weekend

The annual Whiteout Weekend is kicking off this Saturday, 29 September, at Midlothian Snowsports Centre. It’s a family friendly event for all skiing and snowboarding fans.

If you’re a complete beginner, you’ll have a chance to try those snow activities for free. There will also be an opportunity to try the latest craze of tubing: a ride down the nursery slopes in an inflatable rubber ring.

Cafe 360 will offer refreshments, a view of the slopes and stunning views over Edinburgh to Fife.

“The Whiteout Weekend provides the chance to get involved in some fun activities to mark the start of the upcoming season. There are activities for skiers and snowboarders of every standard, including complete beginners, to take part in. The centre boasts the longest, steepest and most challenging dry slope in Europe as well as nursery slopes.” - says Jim Muirhead, spokesman councillor.

The weekend takes place from 9.30am to 6.30pm on the Saturday and from 9.30am until 5pm on the Sunday. Classes take place every 30 minutes. No advance booking is necessary, just turn up!

Skiers and boarders will have chance to win some top prizes in Gian Slalom races. However if you’re not ready to take part in the slalom yet, you can use the slopes to practice and to try out new equipment. All this in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
