Powerbocking

You have probably seen people jumping on something attached to their legs. Looked exciting but what was that? Well, it is called Powerbocking and it is all about jumping and running. You just need PowerBocks.

Some people consider powerbocking as an extreme sport whereas for the others it’s a form of exercise or even a means of artistic expression.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you may be wondering what the equipment looks like. It’s short stilts with boots consisting of a foot pads with snowboard type bindings, foot-plate and fibreglass leaf spring. Only a few movements of the user make him jump 1-1.5 metres off the ground and run up to 32 km/h.

Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Especially if you need to quickly get to work in the morning…

PowerBocks were patented by Alexander Boeck in 2003. Its name is derived from Mr Boeck’s name. There are also other brands such as Street Jumper, Velocity Stilts, PoweriZer, Fly Jumper, SkyRunner, Pro-Jump. They differ in price, type of spring, quality of manufacture and components.
