New BMX facility to open in Hulme Park

After several months of coordination between the council and a BMX group, a new dirt jump facility opens in Hulme Park, Greater Manchester. The event is organised by the Local Action Partnership (LAP) of residents and the police and is taking place this Saturday.

The BMX track (a 600 metre-square area) will be used for the first time at 1:30 pm.

“This is the latest of a series of new facilities in Hulme which are making the area one of the most popular places to live in the city. New developments in housing, parks and education, plus a wealth of cultural activity generated the thriving residents’ groups are helping to create a happy, sustainable community.” - says Sir Richard Leese, the City council leader.

Among other comminuty facilities, Hulme Park has also a football pitch, basketball area, an artists’ performance area and sensory garden.
