Good news for the winter surfers. Believe it or not but there is a chance that you won’t get cold even in freezing water. If only you buy a Hotsuit, a heat-pack kidney belt.

“The Hotsuit is worn under your wetsuit and uses a chemical reaction to release the heat,” creator Chris Lyons says, and can keep a surfer warmer for about an hour.

Heelies. A new phenomenon that looks so innocent. On the outside - like regular tennis shoes but they are really a two-in-one form of transportation.

A GB Shoes store manager of Anderson, Barbara Randall, reminds herself that their first major shipment of Heelies came right before Thanksgiving and before Christmas they were completely sold out.

E.J. Jackson is the first kayaker to win Freestyle Kayaking World Championships four times in a row, on the Ottawa River in Canada. His 17-year-old daughter, Emily, followed with her first world junior women’s and Dane, 13, earned a bronze in junior men.

E.J. Jackson is considered the best freestyle kayaker in the world whereas his children have been paddling kayaks since they learned to walk.
The foaming wave measured 15 feet from trough to crest and was created by near-record flows of 75,000 cubic feet per second.

Smart Sunglasses and Goggles

A new model of sunglasses that can be transparent or dark, and in shades of yellow, green and purple, was recently presented in Chicago at the American Chemical Society’s 233rd national meeting.

Chunye Xu, research assistant professor says that this model is more active and more intelligent than today’s sunglasses. And that with the cheap materials they are using, the price will be manageable (manageable for *who*, we wonder!).

The surfing season has just begun.

The twins - Amiya and Brodie Doyle - are the youngest competitors at the annual Malfunction Surf Festival at Rainbow Bay Beach on the Gold Coast.
The 13-year-old sisters have been riding their boards since they were three!

“They both stood up on their very first wave and walked along the board,” said dad, Martin Doyle.

You may have noticed our kayak section is quite free from kayaks suddenly, due to some crazed demand on a manufacturer simply unable to keep up! Said manufacturer is stepping up to the plate with new equipment and increased production rates, but this won’t take effect for a short while.

2007 National Bike League BMX Racing

The 2007 National Bike League season started in Las Vegas.

As BMX racing became an Olympic Sport, the level of interest has incredibly increased. Cameramen were fighting with fans for the best positions and due to a cash injection the event was bigger and better than ever before.

29-year-old Christian Becerine from Elite Pros set off strongly but after a fall, he was eventually left behind. He battled hard to get himself back but had to be content with the sixth place on the day.

Peru’s surfing queen nominated by U.S. awards show

Sofia Mulanovich, a peruvian surfer, was recently nominated by the organizers of the Premios Juventud 2007 Awards.
The awards ceremony will take place in Miami, July 19 and will award Latino celebrities from the realms of TV, music, sport and other entertainment.
Throughout her young cereer, the peruvian surfer has won numerous surfing events and she is nominated in the category of “Deportes de Alta Tension”.
Her competitors are: Lorena Ochoa (a Mexican female golfer), Maribel Dominiquez (a Mexican female soccer star) and Milko Duno (a venazuelan race car driver).
