Banning of skateboards in Pennsylvania town

One small town in Pennsylvania has approved a ban on skateboarding in certain areas of the town. The move was made by the Borough Council and also includes scooters. The move has been put into place to try and regulate the number of skateboards, roller skates, scooters and other wheeled devices in certain areas of the town.

Bodyboarding basics

First things first, make sure that you have the correct equipment
1) Bodyboard
2) Wetsuit
3) Water shoes

Put on the wetsuit and water shoes and connect the bodyboard to your arm using the leash attached to the board.

Start by wading knee deep into the sea. Then place board in water and place yourself in the centre of the board and holding onto the top of the board with your hands.

Choosing the correct kayak

There are 3 different types of kayak you can choose from,
1) The rigid kayak normally made from plastic and the least expensive to buy.

2) Folding boats which are made from fabric which you stretch over a metal frame, these can then be folded which makes easier transportation, however, they are expensive to purchase initially.

3) Inflatable boats are portable and easy to store once it has dried off.

Foster’s ASP World Tour Surfing Competition

This weekend sees the start of the ASP World Tour Surfing Competitions which continue until the 11th March. The competition sees contenders traveling all around the world to the best surfing destinations in Australia, Brazil, Spain and Hawaii.

The action starts on Saturday night with all the contenders attending the Foster’s ASP World Championship Crowning Banquet and after that, the competition begins.

Live at the Lecht Snowboarding Competition

The first ever Live at the Lecht snowboarding and skiing competition is happening this weekend (Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February) at Tomintoul, Scotland. It is also the first UK snowboarding competition of the winter at a real UK ski resort.

The Live at the Lecht competition consists of three events over two days, Big Air and Slope Style on Saturday and on Sunday, the Scottish Freestyle Ski Mogul Championships. The Slope Style on Saturday will be held in the evening under floodlights making Live at Lecht the first ever floodlit competition at a UK ski resort.

Putting on a wetsuit, the simple way!

1. The easiest way to get your legs into your wetsuit is to start by sitting on the floor and by putting your feet through first.

2. Once the wetsuit is over your feet, stand up and gradually using your fingers, starting at your ankles, pull the suit up in small sections. Ensure you pull up the back of the wetsuit, in sections, at the same time and continue doing this until the wetsuit is over your hips and comes comfortably high at the crutch.
