Extreme… booking in?
Okay so i guess booking in isn’t the only thing you do at a hotel. You could also use the climbing wall, hang from a chair, jump in the shark cage up to a higher level… getting the idea? Cape Town is now the proud owner of the worls first Extreme Hotel. The designers have created this hotel to cater to the Extreme Sports crowd, with funky designs and lighting to suit the culture as well as tons of sporting features and bizarre additions.
The swimming pool in the hotel, for example, is designed like an aquarium - giving diners a view of swimmers underwater. The elevator has wall-to-wall underwater photographs, and the foyer has a hanging chair (this has been reported as such, but we’re still not entirely sure they mean, and we can’t find a photo).
They’re also reporting the prices to be within the reach of their targeted interest crowd too, saying the 3-star prices will give a 5-star experience. This remains to be seen, but i for one think the hotel at least looks very cool. If any of you get a chance to sample the Protea Fire & Ice Hotel, be sure to let us know what you thought!
