Extreme Sports Goes Mobile

The Extreme Sports Channel have recently bought into the mobile market, investing in a whole new slew of products and channels catered for those PDA-wielding many. Specific episodes designed for mobile wireless watchers, and especially suited for Vodafone’s 3G network, have been devised, with downloadable clips for those who prefer to synch-and-go.

I can definitely see this being useful as a way of taking tips and trick instructions with you to the slope or park - but i’m unsure how many users are going to be spending money watching streaming clips online as they speed down a hill (not to mention the fact that when you crash, your device goes with you!). And on top of that, i’m not even sure how many people have that option - a 3G contract is no cheap thing and i’m wondering how many extreme sport enthusiasts have that kind of money.

Do you think you’re going to be using this service? Does it even raise a flicker of interest? We’d be interested to hear because for now, when mobile internet costs are so high, we can’t see it taking off.
