Get Your Christmas Orders in Early!

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

By Pete Crewdson -Â Product Manager, BlueZeal

Ok, so we are still in October, but judging from the experiences we had last Christmas here at BlueZeal, this is the most sensible thing I’ve said all month! Christmas is a hectic time for everybody, and this year will be no exception, not even for us!

Wireless Ipod Control

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

This little wireless controller has been made to endure the extreme sports along with you, so you no longer have to be rustling around inside your jacket while careering down a steep incline, trying to find the darn ’skip’ button on your mp3 player. While I don’t neccessarily enjoy the hype surrounding Ipods (there are much better players out there) this is worth reporting, because as sure as Belkin come up with this for the Ipod, someone else will come up with a universal one for all MP3 players. Or at least, we can hope.

Introducing… The Poweriser!

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

By Pete Crewdson -Â Product Manager, BlueZealÂ

The future of Extreme Sports Entertainment is here. Depending on your outlook of Extreme of course. Does bouncing 2 metres in the air with only a few springs and some extended feet to guide you fit the bill? BlueZeal would like to introduce the weird and the wacky; the wonderful new Poweriser.

“Your Career is an Extreme Sport”

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Look like rather than sticking with their normal sports-analogies, the Americans have decided to take it one step further and start using extreme sports camparisons for describing their goals, mission statements and roles in the business world.
Someone’s written a book with the above title, detailing the extreme sports skills relevant to the workplace, including eskimo rolls and halfpipes - showing how high-risk sport skills can be transferred to business and management. Which is somewhat reminicent of the Red Bull offices, where they have slides instead of stairs, which could be considered risky enough for some of the less fit workers in many offices.

Tony Hawk Helmet-Cam (another one!)

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

They’re a plague upon us! We’ve found yet another recording type device designed especially for the extreme sports arena. This time it’s a Tony Hawk branded (what exactly does that mean in this context anyway? That it shoots great angles? That it costs more money?) digital camera, which attaches to your helmet, or straps round your head if you’re feeling reckless (and want to look like a caveminer).

This Just In: Helmets Protect Your Head!

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

Sorry, this might be the cynic in us, but we found this recent study on the importance of helmets during snowboarding to be pretty hilarious. This isn’t to make comment against helmets, because they’re definitely one of the first pieces of kit you should be wearing before doing any kind of extreme sport… but what is fairly funny, is that a team of scientists felt they had to carry out funded studies in order to discover that wearing helmets reduces the severity of head injuries during snowboarding. Is this not fairly obvious??

Extreme Sports Goes Mobile

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

The Extreme Sports Channel have recently bought into the mobile market, investing in a whole new slew of products and channels catered for those PDA-wielding many. Specific episodes designed for mobile wireless watchers, and especially suited for Vodafone’s 3G network, have been devised, with downloadable clips for those who prefer to synch-and-go.
