Sunday saw Raglan’s Daniel Kereopa notch up another win in Gisborne - making it three in row this year. Spotting some nice lefthanders he headed for them along with Damon Gunness who used them to lead the early stages of the final.

The surfing deteriorated through the day and a lot of promising competitors were left starved for waves towards the end, when they needed to make up the points. Despite that lull though, the event was blessed with near-perfect weather, and the times when wave hunting was at its most challenging merely brought an aspect of strategy to the event.

This 4 star event will be held over this weekend at Gisborne, New Zealand, showcasing talents the like of Daniel Kereopa, Justin Souter and Leon Santorik.

The event was moved from a March date to September in an attempt to catch bigger waves and create better chances for some spectacular surfing, which looks to have paid off. The surf looks great, and with some ratings leaders uanble to attend it looks like there will be a real fight for the top position in the competition.

The Scottish snowsports season is making a start with the Whiteout Weekend at Midlothian Snowsports Center Edinburgh on the 1st and 2nd of October.

Events start at 9.30am, and it looks like there is a bit of something for everyone. There will be free starter sessions for those who are new to snowboarding and skiiing, there will be free equipment testing of the new seasons snowboards and skis, and free freestyle tips to improve your chances in the weekend competitions.
